At Picnic, we're revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. We do almost everything in-house, developing cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we continue to grow rapidly without missing a beat. If you are passionate about Tax, we're offering you the opportunity to join the diverse team at our German office in Düsseldorf and make a real difference in our scaleup environment.

In a nutshell

We're looking for a Tax Manager who can manage the day-to-day Tax matters for Germany, with the main focus on, but not limited to, VAT. You will report into the Tax Lead (based in Amsterdam) and you will manage all tax matters in Germany and coordinate with advisers where needed, together with the colleagues from the broader finance organisation, the legal department and the ‘operational side' of the business. The main focus will be on VAT, including training of the team, but you will also be responsible for bringing the tax control framework to the next level and support the Tax Lead on various other tax matters, such as transfer pricing, global mobility and many other things. No specific experience is needed on these topics, as long as you are willing to learn and are enthusiastic to take on new things!

Besides managing the German tax matters of our rapidly expanding business, you will also be involved in bringing our VAT controls in other countries to the next level (for now, France and the Netherlands). You will make sure that the relevant teams and colleagues are kept up to date on any regulatory changes, take ownership and you will be ‘the tax contact' with regard to the various new business initiatives, and you will engage/manage external advisers and stakeholders where needed.
